A patient’s right to choose physician-assisted death with dignity, often referred to as “aid in dying,” is currently at the forefront of legal, ethical and political debate. All practitioners – whether lawyers, physicians, nurses, health care administrators or hospice and social workers – and other persons interacting with or caring for patients must stay informed of the current litigation and legislative proposals in this area. In this program, nationally renowned faculty will discuss the current law, litigation and legislative proposals in this hotly contested area, along with ethical implications of the right to die and an in-depth panel discussion of case studies with the issues for counsel.
