Description

Total Credits: 3.0 Professional Practice

Business and government entities as well as individuals create, store, and use electronic data at a staggering rate. That rate is driven by, among other things, the ever-increasing volumes and varieties of data. However, there may come times when data becomes obsolete or unreliable or simply inaccessible. In such circumstances, it may become a liability rather than an asset. For all these reasons – including those imposed by new regulatory regimes such as the GDPR – there may be circumstances when data should be minimized or disposed of. This three-hour CLE program will examine the challenges posed by “old” data and how that data might be disposed of without regulatory or litigation-related risk.
