Old iMIS Number:

Description

Total MCLE Credits: 4.0 Professional Practice

Recent high-profile security breaches have raised awareness of the threat of, and the need to address cyber-security risks. The health care industry is increasingly facing the impact of security breaches, the consequential consumer privacy complaints and penalties from federal and state government agencies. A recent report revealed that 40% of surveyed healthcare organizations had more than five breaches over the past two years, and that the average hospital breach costs $2.1 million. The key goal is to understand the areas of vulnerability and implement the right technical resources and organizational protocols to address these issues. This program will focus on internal privacy, security, compliance and audit practices to achieve that goal and comply with the federal and state rules and regulations.
