This program examines the issues, both scientific and legal, that arise when lawyers seek to use forensic evidence in criminal and civil litigation. The focus of the program is derived from the report of the New York State Bar Association's Task Force on Wrongful Convictions and from “Strengthening Forensic Science in the United States: A Path Forward, ” the report of the Committee on Identifying the Needs of the Forensic Science that is part of the National Academy of Sciences.
