This three-segment CLE program, sponsored by the New York State Bar Association Committee on Continuing Legal Education and the Committee on Legislative Policy, will survey lobbying and the legislative process in New York State.
 
This first segment will cover ethics law and the lobbying of public officials, with a focus on the New York State Lobbying Act and the role of the Joint Commission on Public Ethics (“JCOPE”). The second segment will cover the annual executive budget process and the respective roles of the Governor and the Legislature. The third segment will examine bill drafting in New York.
