For half a century the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Professional Ethics has served the Bar by helping guideNew Yorklawyers through the intricacies of the rules governing ethical practice. The Committee, whose members come from all areas of the state and all types of practice, receives requests for guidance from practicing lawyers and responds to these requests via telephone, e-mails, informal letters, and formal written opinions. The Committee offers a series ofCLE programs across the state every year to inform, to guide, and to engage practitioners in thinking about frequently encountered ethical problems.
