Public Sector Labor Relations 2012 (2012)

Labor-management issues continue to headline the agendas of municipalities, school districts, and other governmental entities throughout the State of New York. The laws and contracts covering public sector workers are the subject of news articles, editorials, blog posts, legislative hearings, and other forums of public comment on an almost daily basis. From pension reform (new Tier VI) and the rising cost of health insurance (the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) to strains on governmental budgets (real property tax cap) and the increasing use of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google+), public sector labor law (and labor-management relations) continues to grow in importance and scope.
