The 2013-2014 term of the United State Supreme Court saw an array of important and contentious cases decided by the Court, including Riley v. CaliforniaTown of Greece v. Galloway, and Burwell v. Hobby Lobby. The wide variety of issues addressed by the Court included: the Affordable Care Act; legislative prayer; free speech near reproductive health facilities; political campaign contributions; search and seizure in cell phone privacy; reasonable suspicion; and consent to search. This engaging seminar will focus on cases involving these First Amendment and Criminal Law issues, with our panel of speakers reviewing the decisions, analyzing their significance, and discussing their impact on the nation and on New York.
